A cross between a mandarin and a pomelo
The minneola is a hybrid citrus fruit, a cross between a mandarin and a pomelo. The fruits, about the size of an orange, are slightly elongated at one end, so as pear-shaped. The fruits have a thick skin which can be very easily peeled. Their flesh is very juicy, with a great balance of sweetness and acidity. Depending on the country of origin, the bitterness can sometimes be rather powerful.
